AI is evolving rapidly, reshaping industries, and redefining how we experience the world around us. This evolution isn't just about technology—it's about using these innovations to create meaningful, human-centered solutions. That's why intive and the AIR Cluster is launching the first AI & Design Meetup in Regensburg: to unite the AI technology perspective with the human-centered design approach.
Join us in Regensburg for an evening of inspiration and connection. Hear from experts in AI and UX as they share insights on current applications, future opportunities, and the power of human-centered design in this fast-paced field.
Whether you're a product manager, business leader, developer, designer, or simply curious about AI and design, join us with the goal to connect, exchange, and learn. Discover how AI can elevate both technology and the human experience and contribute to the conversation that is shaping the future.
We are looking forward to your participation!
Agenda
- A new interaction paradigm: From command-based to intent-based with GenAI
by Matthias Fertl
New intent-based approaches are transforming our interactions with technology, marking a shift from traditional command-based systems. This talk will explain how Generative AI understands user intent and translates it into meaningful actions, revolutionizing the way we engage with machines.
- Creating Value with Large Language Models - A structured approach to implementing AI augmentation
by Christoph Genster
According to market insights, most AI projects do not leave the prototype stage. This talk shares a success story on how to apply Large Language Models effectively to augment business processes with a structured approach to AI innovation.
- AlphaZero could reason, LLMs can’t. Now what?
by Jonathan Pirnay
In 2017, AlphaZero mastered chess and Go within hours. In 2024, major LLMs still think ‘strawberry’ has 2 ‘r’s. This talk explores recent research efforts to integrate AlphaZero’s planning into LLMs – and why it’s so frustratingly hard.
OUR SPEAKERS
Matthias Ferstl: is a UX/Product Designer at Bayernwerk Netz GmbH in Regensburg. He is responsible for the product design of digital solutions and contributes to making our energy world not only more sustainable, but also more user-friendly. With over nine years of experience in UX design working in highly technical environments, Matthias teaches the course "UX design in the GenAI world" at Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt.
Christoph Genster: ss a Senior AI Consultant at intive, Christoph bridges the gap between AI innovation and practical business solutions. With a PhD in particle physics from RWTH Aachen, he witnessed firsthand the advent of deep learning in scientific computing. This experience shaped his current approach of bringing systematic thinking to AI implementations across industries. Drawing on his background in physics and 4+ years of machine learning expertise, he stays at the forefront of AI developments, particularly in generative AI and multi-agent systems, to identify and develop value-creating solutions tailored to specific business needs.
Jonathan Pirnay: is a third year PhD student at the Professorship of Bioinformatics at the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability. Before starting his PhD, Jonathan worked for two years as an AI consultant at Fujitsu. He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Regensburg. His research focuses on building bridges between reinforcement learning and self-supervised learning to solve complex planning problems.
